The Desensitized humanity #5

The Five Faces Of Oppression Exploitation, Marginalization, Powerlessness, Cultural Imperialism, Violence.  These are the faces that oppress humanity, taking advantage of hard workers deciding not to pay for the services they do. Confining a group to a lower social standing; the process of exclusion. Dominated by the ruling class obligated to take orders; the new form of slavery. Ruling class define what’s the culture should be and established it as the norm. The knowledge that most members of some groups must fear random, unprovoked attacks.

Milgram Experiment Showed the 2 key facts to the five faces of oppression Powerlessness & Cultural.  Obeying the higher monarchy without questioning or better yet without reasons we can see that Culture Silence played a part here.  Evening though the students knew what they were doing was unethical posing high volume shocks to another human being for the wrong answer; not wanting to go against the social norm in all reality sometime obedience out ways rational thinking.

Chapter 5 goes in depth explaining different type of power how and why power has such an impact on us. This gives us a better understanding how humanity works the cause and affect of things Cultural Power, Economic And Political Power. These Shapes and somewhat defines who we are.

When I view America and it’s values, I also see the Vail that it wears from the millions that were salugther, because the dominating culture wants to impose a new way of life, religions and thoughts; and going against that made you the target for violence as time progress we see that we are the ''Three Monkeys see no evil hear no evil speak no evil. Has Culture Silence become such a part of our being we don’t even realize it or is it Conscientization the real gain through the battle we fight.?

Milgram said it best we persuade ourselves to believe what isn’t normal to be normal.

  1. I found your description of the material to be accurately summarized. I appreciate your celerity on the subjects and think if I had not yet read the material I would have had a basic understanding of it. your last paragraph had quite a poetic tone to it which was a very pleasing ending to your fifth blog.
